Go on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to see red flowing lava! Rarely do we get to see such a magnificent event. Witness rivers of lava carving paths into the landscape on its march to the sea. This is a brand new edition to the Kona Adventure Tours lineup of guided Big Island tours and by far the most challenging. This tour is the ultimate volcano and lava viewing experience.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park tour includes:
Comfortable transportation to and from the hike in a full-sized SUV with air conditioning
Deli-style picnic on the way to hike
Water, lunch, and snacks
Binoculars, gloves, and rain gear
Due to the unpredictability of the volcano we do NOT guarantee views of active flowing lava. This is a more strenuous hike due to long hiking distances (currently a 5 to 6-mile round-trip hike). Due to the risk of exposure, dehydration, and isolation of activity, we do NOT allow children under 13 to participate in this activity.
We also reserve the right to not allow anyone to participate in the Lava Viewing Hike if they are: Pregnant Suffering from, and/or been recently treated for any procedure, including surgery for heart-related issues. Hungover or appear to be intoxicated or otherwise under the influence of any substance. Already suffering from exhaustion Suffering from any respiratory issues such as asthma, bronchitis, or emphysema. Currently experiencing bad back, neck, knee, ankle, or other joint/extremity issues.
If long hikes aren’t your thing, sign up for our popular Grand Volcano Adventure and see the glow of a lava lake at the summit of Kilauea which includes lunch, snacks, and a comfortable dining experience.
